Mike Roberts MD of PMG says: “The change in name is not just about a new company logo for PMG. Just Jenny's Ice Cream PR
Jenny Clarkson, producer of Just Jenny's Ice Cream has called in Jenny Wass in to create a buzz about her new award.
Food Critics Jay Rayner and Simon Majumdar have selected Jenny's ice cream as the best in Yorkshire and she was keen to capitilise on the success.
The judges were in raptures about Just Jenny’s Honey Comb Ice Cream. Her father, Jim, and her brother, Richard, farm a herd of 135 Holstein/Friesian dairy cows at Hazel Slack Farm, Barkisland, in Calderdale. It's an area of rich pastureland suited for dairy cows, but in the last 15 years, the number of dairy farms has reduced from seven to two. Making commercial ice cream has been Jenny’s dream to keep the farm in the family and make a better return on the milk they produce.
Local restaurants, farm shops and delicatessens sell her gorgeous ice cream and expansion will help to guarantee the future of the farm.
Award winning food critic Jay Rayner said “The killer combination of crunchy honey comb and the creamy velvety texture of proper ice cream was a real winner. I’m delighted to hear it comes from a local family farm using honey from a local beekeeper. This is a great example of how food should be produced. It’s delicious.”
As well as fresh whole milk and cream from Jenny’s farm, the honey comb ice cream also includes egg yolks, sugar, honey and copious quantities of crunchy cinder toffee from Dobson’s sweet factory in Elland.
Following the PR exposure the brand has received exposure with The Halifax Courier, The Huddersfield Examiner and Look North. Work continues.....
